OriGENE - Analitic identification of origin by phylogeny.

Based on geographic origin identification of foodstuffs and their components or raw materials, critically important to fight against fraud in agrifood industry.


  • Control of geographical origin of products regulated by designations of origin and other quality labels 'on paper' -not subject to real analytics-, applicable to several products (eg cheeses, olive oil, wine).
  • Certification of origin for local productions or geographic areas: specific species or populations, productions restricted to specific areas (eg Iberian pig, honey, beef from a certain region, “Bonito del Norte”, Cantabrian anchovy).

This product can be applied together with 2DNA intelligent labeling system, which collects all information about GENOMID analyses, in a scanneable code, to verify this information by consumers or regulatory entities.
